I completed my PhD on statistical phylogeography at Hacettepe University Turkey, under the supervision of Selim S. Caglar and studied quantitative genetics under Derek A. Roff as a Fulbright scholar at the Roff Lab, Department of Biology, University of California, Riverside. Later I joined the Miller Lab, Department of Animal Science, Univesity of California Davis as post-doctoral research associate, where thanks to Michael R. Miller and his many students, I learned bioinformatics and its applications to the fields of population and conservation genomics. As of 2018 I joined Koç University as full faculty to continue my research on evolutionary genomics and conservation biology. I am a proud member of the Societ for Ecology and Evolutinary Biology of Turkey, a group scientists, spread out all over the world, aiming to promote scientific research in the fields of ecology and evolutionary biology in Turkey.
